SMART CORONON

Technologies have become an essential element being used for health care to increase accessibility and improve outcomes. In most countries, disease reporting has historically been introduced with inadequate infrastructure one examples of these diseases involve HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Ebola, SARS, neglected tropical diseases and viral hepatitis. Disease causing biological agents includes viruses, bacteria, fungi, or parasites that affect billions of people around the world. Most of these diseases can be passed from person to another or from an animal to a person. The spread often happens via airborne. Others require direct contact with a contaminated surface, food or beverages, blood or other bodily fluid. In some cases, a bite from an infected animal or insect is also capable of spreading disease. The heterogeneity of disease and the lack of sufficient resources render it exceedingly difficult to set the norm for disease reporting system. These are also a need to develop process and promote the flow of information and reporting system to achieve a modern and easy model.

This study generally created to develop a smart community specifically in Barangay Coronon with monitoring on communicable diseases Web-based, Mobile-based, and Quick Response Technology implementation. Particularly, the researcher has identified the following specific objectives:

1. To develop a web-based technology to barangay Coronon that has a module console that barangay services are accessed for the following:

1.1. administrator (Barangay Chairperson); and

1.2. end-users (residents).

2. To develop a mobile application to barangay Coronon that has a module console for the following:

2.1. administrator (Barangay Chairperson); and

2.2. end-users (residents);

3. To develop a module in a web platform that automate and update on the following functionality:

3.1. post and display monitoring on communicable diseases program in the health center;

3.2. notify residents on schedules on the barangay health center services; and

3.3. access necessary information when connected to internet.

4. To develop a module in a mobile application that automate and update on the following functionality:

4.1. post and display on communicable diseases program in the health center;

4.2. access, install and register user to a smartphone; and

4.3. access necessary information even not connected to internet.

5. To evaluate the performance of the smart Coronon project when evaluated by end-users (residents) and administrator (Barangay Chairperson) in terms of;

5.1. ease of use; and

5.2. system capability.

This study primarily aims to explore the known potential of technology and its feasibility in implementing it in a not so urbanized community like barangay Coronon.

Primarily, innovation is the main focus of the study which is based on the evaluation of the respondents for additional procedure to support the claims. Providing web-based and mobile application that supports the operations of the barangay on its major services that includes requesting, reservation and accessing clearances and certification as one of the highlights with specific monitoring in the communicable diseases implemented program in the health center. As the major focus is through various request of the residents in the barangay, a notification module will be included to inform the residents that will be evaluated in the last objective of this study.

The administrator, user, and barangay staff could only access it via mobile application, but the information are available in the website.

Gathering of data will be done on or before January to March 2021 followed by the development and testing which will be done through online with the use of the team effort following the alpha testing approach.
