SMART INAWAYAN

In many places around the world, mobile technology is increasingly being used to improved health care access and efficiency. This is the challenge with regards to implementation and monitoring specially in some area in the Philippines. The Department of Health (DoH) is very updated with all the initiatives funded by the government with support from some countries also extending aid. One example of these programs is the Mother, Neonatal, and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) which the main goal is to implement reforms in health to reduce rapidly the maternal and neonatal mortality in the Philippines initiated by DoH.

The general objective of this study is to create the Barangay Inawayan smart through implementing a Web-based technology to the entire community and Mobile technology in monitoring MNCGHN using Resident QR Code. Particularly, the researcher has identified the following specific objectives:

1. To develop a web-based technology to barangay Inawayan that has a module console that barangay services can be accessed by the following:

1.1. administrator (Barangay Chairperson/Punong Barangay/Sanguniang Barangay Technology Chairperson); and

1.2. end-users (resident).

2. To develop a mobile application to barangay Inawayan that has a module console in Barangay Health Center for the MNCHN program for the following:

2.1. administrator (Barangay Health Center Nurse/Health Worker/Physician); and

2.2. end-users (mothers);

3. To develop a module in a web platform that monitor the mothers on the following functionality:

3.1. post and display schedule of the mother and neonatal; and

3.2. health status of the mother and neonatal.

4. To develop a module in a mobile application that monitor the mothers on the following functionality:

4.1. access necessary information about the program; and

4.2. notify the mothers in all important announcement of the Barangay Health Center.

5. To evaluate the performance of the smart Inawayan project when evaluated by end-users (mother and resident) and administrator (Barangay Officials and Barangay Health Workers) in terms of;

5.1. functionality; and

5.2. usability.

This study primarily aims to explore the known potential of technology and its feasibility in implementing it in a not so urbanized community like barangay Inawayan.

Primarily, innovation is the main focus of the study which is based on the evaluation of the respondents for additional procedure to support the claims. Providing web-based and mobile application that supports the operations of the barangay on its major services that includes requesting, reservation and accessing clearances and certification as one of the highlights. As the major focus is through MNCHN program implementation monitoring, the accessing and managing of information with regards to this are also the thing that will be evaluated in the last objective of this study.

Gathering of data will be done on or before January to March 2021 followed by the development and testing that will be done through online with the use of the team effort following the alpha testing approach.
