Ghastling Behavior
After spawning, the Ghastling will attempt to follow:
- Players within a 16 block radius, or
- A non-aquatic adult passive mob (and some neutral mobs) within a 16 block radius
If there are no suitable players or mobs nearby, the Ghastling will remain idle within a 32 block radius of its starting position. It can be lured and fed with snowballs, and will grow into a Happy Ghast after approximately 20 minutes (or faster if fed with snowballs).
Dried Ghast: Location and Usage

- Found in Nether Fossil structures

When flooded, the Dried Ghast goes through 3 stages over the course of approximately 20 minutes until it finally spawns a Ghastling mob. During this process:
- Makes sounds and displays particles depending on the stage
- If mined during the flood, it returns to the "dry" state, regardless of the stage reached.
- Gradually returns to the initial "dry" state when it is no longer flooded, using the same time scale
Harness: The Harness for Riding the Happy Ghast

- Can be crafted with 3 leather, 2 glass blocks and 1 wool block.
