Hadith is the second source of Islamic teachings after the Koran. Therefore, the hadith then became Al-masdaru Tasyri' al-Islamy al-Tsany (the second source of Islamic law). Sometimes, this hadith or sunnah is also referred to as atsar or akhbar, which actually functions as an explanation of the contents of the Koran.

When sharing mature Islamic knowledge, Imam Badruddin Az-Zarkasyi (1334-1391) said that hadith as an important source of Islamic teachings was categorized as mature knowledge because it had "burned" (nadhaja waqad ikhtaraqa).

Already "burned" means that it has been widely discussed by authoritative mutaqaddimin (previous) scholars - because it already has rules and methodologies that have been tested and agreed upon. Apart from hadith, linguistics (nahwu and shorof) as well as iqih and ushul iqih are also included in the "burnt" category.

Meanwhile, the science of interpretation is still not accepted as a "final science" because it still does not have rules that can be compromised and agreed upon by authoritative ulama leaders.

Before explaining further about hadith, it is necessary to first emphasize the function of hadith in the presence of the Qur'an. In essence, the Qur'an contains general laws. Meanwhile, the hadith contains detailed teachings (tafshili). And, the detail is Rosululloh SAW himself, even applied in the form of exemplary practical practices.
