The Clash of Clans Gold Pass got torn apart and rebuilt this year, and plenty of Chiefs still tap into it expecting the old layout. If you're coming back after a break, the track you remember is gone. Supercell ripped out the weekly challenge system, replaced the Season Bank, and reworked how rewards scale. It's a rebuild, not a coat of paint.
This Clash of Clans Gold Pass update replaced the old challenge system outright. Here's what actually changed, how the new pieces work in practice, and whether the pass is still worth buying.
The New Full-Screen Gold Pass UI
The interface changed first. The track now fills a full-screen layout with bigger icons and clearer reward visibility, so you can read what's coming without squinting at cramped text. That's not a gameplay tweak, but it removes a small friction the old design carried for years.
Functionally, the cleaner flow means progression is easier to follow at a glance. You see how far you've pushed and what's left without tapping through nested panels. Small thing, real difference in daily use.
Daily Tasks and Stamp Cards Replace Challenges
The old system handed you a batch of weekly challenges, and missing a week meant grinding twice as hard to catch up. That's gone. The Clash of Clans daily tasks setup gives you eight always-available tasks every day, all tied to normal play: attack a base, start an upgrade, donate troops, train an army.
Each completed task earns a stamp. Fill a Stamp Card and you get bonus Season Points that move you down the track. You start a season with several cards banked and earn one more each day, and the cards stack. Skip a few days and they wait for you instead of expiring, which fixes the worst habit of the old system.
Gold Pass holders earn bonus points on completed cards. In the final week of the season, points per stamp and per card rise, so catching up late is designed into the math rather than punished.
Why the Consecutive Purchase Bonus Is Gone
Points now arrive more evenly across the season, so Supercell dropped the old bonus for buying the Gold Pass in back-to-back months. That's a straight loss for loyal buyers. If you were banking that bonus every season, your effective cost went up.
The trade is consistency. Daily tasks keep progress steady instead of lumping it into week one, and casual players can keep pace without a late-season sprint. It's a fairer system that quietly costs the most committed players a perk.
Choice Nodes Let You Pick Your Reward
Choice Nodes are the best quality-of-life change in the whole rework. At set points on the Clash of Clans new season pass track, you pick between two rewards instead of accepting a fixed one. Supercell's examples include two Hero skins, a Rune of Gold or a Rune of Elixir, and a Book of Fighting or a Book of Spells.
The point is planning. So which reward do you actually want? If you're saving toward a specific upgrade, you steer the track toward the resource you need instead of hoping the fixed reward lines up. Higher Town Halls open up more meaningful choices, while lower Town Halls only see options that fit their progression.
One catch: an unclaimed Choice Node defaults to the first option when the season ends, or converts to Gems if your inventory is full. If you care which reward you get, claim it before the season closes.
The Hoggy Bank Replaces the Season Bank
The Season Bank became the Hoggy Bank, and it now starts at maximum size with no size upgrades or income multipliers. The Gold Pass applies a 5x payout multiplier when you claim at season's end.
Silver track players can earn up to 8M Gold and Elixir plus 2M Builder Gold and Builder Elixir. Gold Pass players can earn up to 40M Gold and Elixir plus 10M Builder Gold and Builder Elixir. The catch is scaling. The Hoggy Bank follows your Town Hall level, so lower Town Halls see smaller totals than the old bank gave them. Higher ones get bigger payouts.
That scaling is the real design win. Under the old bank, a TH16 and a TH10 earned at roughly the same rate. It never made sense.
Chests Move to the Silver Track
Chests now sit directly on the Silver track, replacing most of the guaranteed Potions. Each chest holds a random reward, which can include Ores, cosmetics, or other bonus items. Supercell is blunt that this isn't a clean one-to-one trade, but argues free players deserve a shot at Books and Skins too.
For Silver track players, that's a real shift. You lose guaranteed potion income and gain a lottery ticket. If you relied on steady potions for war prep, that certainty is gone. Gone entirely.
The Prospector Arrives at 2400 Season Points
A new Village Helper joins at Town Hall 10 and above. The Prospector appears at 2400 Season Points. He converts one type of Ore into another on a 23-hour cooldown, the same trick the Alchemist pulls. No Gem cost, no upgrades, no bonuses, just predictable conversion.
Players below Town Hall 10 get a Resource Potion instead. Ores are the main bottleneck on hero equipment, so a steady daily conversion smooths out the randomness of drops. One note: the Prospector resets each season, so you re-earn those 2,400 points every month.
Progression, Scaling, and Existing Perk Changes
Progression through the track is now more even across the season. Because tasks arrive daily, perks arrive at a steadier pace, and some boosts may land slightly later than before for players who used to front-load challenges.
Rewards scale based on your Town Hall and Builder Hall levels at the start of the season, including resources, chest contents, and the Hoggy Bank. Scaling locks in when the season begins, so upgrading mid-season won't change that track's rewards. Upgrade beforehand if you want the better value.
Existing perks also got tweaks. You can now use 1-Gem Donations on yourself. If you earn a Magic Item while your storage is full, you can use it immediately or sell it. More Shovels of Obstacles are available too, up to three.
What the Rework Means for Different Players
If you buy the Gold Pass every month, Choice Nodes and the 5x Hoggy Bank multiplier are the wins, offset by losing the consecutive purchase bonus. Your rewards get more flexible even as your loyalty discount disappears.
If you play the Silver track, the picture is mixed. You gain chest access and stackable Stamp Cards that reward missed days, but you give up guaranteed potions. The odds-based chests mean variance, and variance cuts both ways.
For the casual crowd, the daily task model is a genuine improvement. Eight always-available tasks that never expire remove the old pressure to clear every challenge before it lapsed. With the Clash of Clans October 2026 update season on the horizon, the steady-points pace means you're not starting from zero if you drifted away.
On mobile, nothing about the rework changes performance or install size. It's a systems and interface change, so older devices handle it the same as before. Check the permissions the installer requests when you update. Keep your account linked too, so a download hiccup doesn't cost you progress.

Is the Reworked Gold Pass Still Worth It?
The rework fixed the pass's worst habit, which was forcing players to grind every challenge on a deadline. Stackable cards, daily tasks, and Choice Nodes all push toward player control, and that's the right direction. If you've skipped the last few seasons, the current track is a different game from the one you left.
If you buy the Gold Pass every season, the loss of the consecutive bonus stings. The 5x Hoggy Bank and reward choice ease that, but it's still a perk you had and no longer do. Free players come out closer to even than before. The shift from guaranteed potions to random chests is still a genuine gamble.
The system has been running through 2026 seasons and keeps iterating. If you're close to a Town Hall upgrade, finish it before a new season starts and lock in better-scaled rewards for the whole month. Watch the full track reveal in-game at each season reset, and judge the chest odds in practice rather than on paper.
