ShopSmart

As the ShopSmart team, our goal is to create an application that will improve the customer's experience while shopping. The main purpose of this app is to save customers the time and trouble of going through their shopping bags at the cashier to take every product out and get it scanned. The customer's smartphone will serve as a mobile cash register. While shopping, the customer can instantly scan every product he picks up, using the camera on his smartphone. To complete the purchase, the customer will display all barcodes of scanned products to the cashier, in a convenient way. This way the cashier will be able to scan all products at once, the fastest way to sync the purchase with the store's system. As a result, the trouble customers go through at the cashier, of taking every product out of the bags and putting it back in, is saved. The application will contain additional features, such as individual shopping list management and sharing, and displaying information about the scanned item (description, picture, price comparison etc.). The app will be easy to use, and a store will be able to let its customers use this app with close to no effort, because there is no syncronization with the store's databases.
