Luqman (Arabic: لقمان الحكيم, Luqman, Luqman People of Wisdom) is the person referred to in the Qur'an in Surah Luqman [31]: 12-19, which is famous for his admonitions to his son. Ibn Kathir found is a long name Luqman Luqman bin Unaqa 'bin Sadun. [1] While the origins of Luqman, a number of scholars differed. Ibn Abbas stated that Luqman was a carpenter from Ethiopia. Another narration mentions he was short and sharp nose of nChange, and some thought he was from Sudan. Some are of the opinion Luqman was a judge at the time of the prophet David.
