CMRE- TRI initiative

Center for Mass Rural Entrepreneurship (CMRE) is a program by Transform Rural India Foundation which provides a comprehensive, locally accessible enterprise support ecosystem for rural India to stimulate entrepreneurial talent and facilitate provision of services and linkages required for success, enabling rural and peri-rural youth need based financial support, capacity building and advisory services for establishment of enterprises.

CMRE envisages creation of sustainable self employment opportunities for a large number of rural poor youth, enabling them to engage effectively with the market and help generate wealth locally. In the process, TRI will assist in setting up local coordination mechanism for co-owned, co-shared engagement, targeted allocation for improved infrastructure and services through gaps and delivery bottlenecks identification as well as increased capacity of front line workers for improved service delivery.

TRI will aid in attracting market players to provide relevant missing services and products to communities including procurement of local products from the region thereby promoting entrepreneurial solutions and innovation for and within Indian Villages.

At the community front, TRI will work on strengthening of community institutions with front line organizations and governments, bringing in expert organizations to help develop perspective, knowledge, and capacity of change vectors, activating citizen-public system, energizing communities to engage support and demand social-accountability as well as self-action

CMRE will act as a complete end to end solution provider for village enterprises to enhance their viability, market linkages and credit-worthiness. This will be built on local skills, knowledge and intelligence, guided by high-quality business management knowledge and ICT platform.
