Filipino Food Recipes

Filipino cuisine is a food or culinary cooked cooking that uniquely flourishes in the Philippines and uses groceries from the Philippines and beyond. Like Indonesia, the Philippines is one of the islands of tropical south america in Asia, that's what makes typical Filipino cuisine using basic ingredients that are not much different from Indonesian cuisine.

In essence, modern Filipino cuisine is heavily influenced by Chinese, US, Mexican and Spanish cooking traditions. This is because these countries once had historical ties with the Philippines. Special inhabitants in the Mindanao region, Muslim region in the south of the Philippines, often cook curry and ketupat which is typical of Malay cuisine (Indonesia and Malaysia).

A mixture of traditional Filipino cooking styles and international influences of Chinese and Spanish cooking make Filipino food a unique flavor, salty, sweet, savory, umami, sour, and spicy. Filipino cuisine uses a variety of herbs that smell good like Thai and Indian cuisine.
