JAL – Jaldi Action Le
Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) launched JAL application with an objective to provide exemplary and speedy service and information about water supply timings to the citizen. To enable lineman who are the field workers of water supply, to register any kind of issues in his jurisdiction and bring it to the notice of higher officials for quicker (Jaldi) action to be taken. To provide information to citizens through an SMS regarding the real time water supply timings. It is available in English as well as Telugu. The main features of the app:
1. Valve operations: When a lineman operates a valve and updates it in this JAL app, all the consumers who receive water through that valve are alerted about water supply through an SMS.
2. Operations and Maintenance: Any citizen can interact with a lineman and register their grievance through the mobile app provided to lineman or lineman can register an issue based on his own observations as well. It is an easy to use app, where a lineman just has to select the issue and capture a photo and submit it. Tokens will be generated and progress of action will be monitored. Issues such as below can be registered:
a. No Chlorine present in water supplied
b. Valve Leakage
c. Pipe Leakage
d. Polluted Water
e. Sewerage Overflow
f. Missing Manhole Cover
g. Non Receipt of Bill
h. Request Meter
i. Illegal Water Connections
