Connected Worker platform was born in 2016 in response to a major outage event with a customer in Libya. Due to travel restrictions to Libya, Siemens employees were not allowed to travel to the customer site. This complex situation led to the development of a remote field service solution.
Siemens was able to help the customer conduct the outage work completely remotely, without having Siemens personnel onsite.
This success was the start of developing more service offerings during co-creation and workshop sessions with the focus on solving customer pain points and meeting market demands.
Connected Worker platform now serves customers globally on all types of work scopes and day-to-day activities to ensure business continuity, knowledge capture, and reduce downtime of their plants.
