1. OBJECTIVE

The objective of this experiment is to understand the importance that the tools created by Toyotism had in production systems over time.

At the end of this experiment, you should be able to:

understand and better manage the functioning of a production process and the importance of the production systems created;

understand the impact that tools can have on a given process;

make assertive decisions that are common in companies of any segment and size.

2. WHERE TO USE THESE CONCEPTS?

The decision of a tool in a given production line helps performance among all agents involved in its process; Therefore, the ideal is for all activities to flow naturally, with the help of tools, without major complications and negative impacts on the production routine. Therefore, in any process that uses resources, it is possible to make decision-making more agile, improving the production line.

This decision-making stands out since the use of certain tools directly impacts the production line, given the linear sequencing of its activities. Therefore, when we understand how a production process works and the importance of its systems created over time, production management becomes more intuitive, being linked to tools and decisions that are common in any organization, regardless of its segment. or its size.

Finally, the correct use of tools arising from Toyotism stands out and how their impact can be beneficial over a long-term horizon, as activities are being improved simultaneously, bringing better performance to the company.

3. THE EXPERIMENT

This experiment is based on the application of tools in a production assembly line. In this sense, throughout the process, you will be responsible for making decisions that improve this production line. To achieve this, there will be a production target that must be met, as well as bottlenecks that must be resolved based on your decision making. Therefore, you will use tools created by Toyotism to achieve the objective in the shortest possible time.

4. SECURITY

As it is an activity of a strategic nature, assisting in decision making, specifically in the choice of Toyotism tools, involving data on the process and activities that comprise it, this practice does not require any type of personal safety equipment (PPE) . However, decision-making must be assertive, that is, the choice of tools for each bottleneck must be appropriate, in order to obtain an improvement in the results of the line worked.

5. SCENARIO

This experiment has as its scenario a real decision-making problem in the assembly and standard production of an automobile line. This line, in turn, has five processes, namely: stamping, structuring, painting, engine and assembly. The case study aims to prove the use of real examples, which are part of the students' context, as well as the day-to-day life of a company, regardless of its size.
