APCA

It gives me a great sense of pleasure, pride and satisfaction to head the Academy of Prisons and Correctional Administration (APCA), Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Established in 1979, the Academy has grown to the level of an institution with international repute in imparting training to prisons and correctional service officers during the last three and half decades.

I am particularly happy that I was a trainee in the sixth batch of one year basic course at the Academy, hence my alma mater. Set amidst a hassle free environment in the outskirts of Vellore, Tamil Nadu, the Academy is geographically adjacent to the states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka as well.

The Academy prides itself for its first class infrastructure. We provide quality residential accommodation for all our trainee officers, both junior as well as senior level. We have well set library, with a collection of over 5,000 books and subscription to important journals and periodicals.

The class rooms and lecture halls are equipped with state-of-the-art teaching aids. Apart from a computer lab with internet facility, the entire campus is enabled with unlimited Wi-Fi.

Since the Academy lays great emphasis on physical wellbeing, we have a well equipped sports facility, play grounds, tennis court and gymnasium.
