Chandrayaan - 2 - Full Details 2019

*Chandrayaan 2 was launched on 22 July 2019 at 2:43 p.m. Indian Standard Time from Satish Dhawan Space Center.

Chandrayaan 2 is an Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) mission comprising an orbiter and a soft lander carrying a rover, scheduled to launch to the Moon on July 2019. The primary objective of Chandrayaan 2 is to demonstrate the ability to soft-land on the lunar surface and operate a robotic rover on the surface.

-> It is a follow-up mission from the Chandrayaan-1 mission that assisted in confirming the presence of water/hydroxyl on the moon in 2009.

->Chandrayaan-2 will launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota,

India.

->Chandrayaan-2 mission will consist of an orbiter, a lander and a rover. The orbiter will perform mapping from an altitude of 100 kilometers (62 miles), while the lander will make a soft landing on the surface and send out the rover.
