EARTHBOWL FARMS

Our family owned farm is located on Ajmer Road, Jaipur. It is equipped with clean and airy sheds where we grow fresh green grass for our cows to graze on. All the cow’s feed is grown without the use of any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. If any cow is sick, we keep her in a separate pen to contain the potential spread of infections, and to provide her with special care. Our farm provides top animal care in a low stress environment, with emphasis on improving animal genetics and milk production within our herd.

COW CARE

Our herd is made up of 23 Holstein Friesian Cows. Once a cow comes to our farm she becomes a part of the Earthbowl community and we work hard to keep them healthy and content. They are free to roam and graze on grass in the day, and have an open barn to rest in at night.

Our prevention measures include good nutrition, adequate colostrum to calves, clean housing, no over crowding, vaccination and others. If any cow is required to be treated with antibiotic we ensure that her milk is not allowed back in the milk production rotation until her milk tests free of pesticide residues.

Keeping the cows stress free is at the heart of our practices, as the cows dry up at the end of their lactation cycle, they are taken out of rotation for sixty days before they are impregnated again. As they dry up for good, they remain on our farm, and are take care of for their entire lifetime.

Cow’s DietThe perfect diet for a cow to produce the most delicious milk is a mixture of hay, grain and fresh grass. We work closely with a dairy nutritionist to create a balanced diet for our cows, to maintain their health and to enable them to produce wholesome milk.

MILK PROCUREMENT

Our cows are milked using an electronic milking equipment to avoid discomfort to them, and to prevent the milk from contamination.

The milk is chilled immediately after milking using advanced storage equipment, which preserves the wholesomeness and the farm fresh taste of the milk. The milk with all its goodness intact, arrives at your door through our cold chain delivery system.

QUALITY CHECKS

At Earthbowl, we believe the safety of our products is the highest priority. The key steps we take to ensure that the milk is clean, pure and of the highest quality are:

Somatic Cell Count: this test is an indicator of herd health and milk quality. At our dairy, we make sure that our count is below 100000 cells per milliliter - the quality premium level.

Antibiotic and pesticide Residual Tests: theses are conducted to ensure that the milk is free of pesticides and antibiotics.

SUSTAINABLE FARMING PRACTICES

Our milk is packaged in glass bottles as it is the healthiest medium to store milk . Glass is non-reactive with milk, keeping its micronutrients and flavour preserved. By using reusable glass bottles, we also minimize our carbon footprint.

We believe that agriculture should be done in a way that does least amount of damage to environment as possible. Since we operate in Rajasthan, which lies in the drought prone areas of india, our research is focussed on perfecting drip irrigation for growing the cow’s feed - so that water is conserved till the very last drop.
