Kailash Vidyamandir

ABOUT THE SCHOOL AND ITS LOCATION

Kailash Vidyamandir was set up on 2nd January, 1850 when British imperialist Government ruled the country in one end, and the other by the direct influence of the pathfinder of Indian Renaissance a group of people were fighting covering all aspects of life. During that period the school started its journey of education with the aim of “Man Making & Character Building”. Kailash Vidyamandir, one of the oldest schools in Calcutta, has had a pioneering role in education. The school is located at Chetla in sylvan surroundings with lush green ambience of Alipore on the eastern bank of the river Hooghly, and on the western bank of the Adi Ganga, very close to the great Kali Temple of Kali Ghat.

MEDIUM OF EDUCATION

The medium of education is mainly Bengali. English howe taught as a second language with due emphasis and the Classical language Sanskrit as third language. For H.S. Hindi (A) is included.

COURSES OF STUDY

It is a Multi Disciplinary integrated co-educational Higher Secondary School. There are several classes. viz., V to X (Boys only); XI & XII (Co-education).

From 11.00 a.m. To 4.30 p.m. (Monday to Friday) From 11.00 am. To 1.40 p.m. (Saturday)
