આઘુનિક જીવન શૈલી અને વિભક્ત કુટુંબ પ્રણાલીને લીઘે આજના યુગમાં એક મોટો સામાજીક સમસ્યા ઉદભવી છે. આજે ઘણા બઘા ઉંમર લાયક વ્યક્તિઓને તેમના સંતાનો સાથે રાખવા ઇચ્છતા નથી અથવાતો નોકરી ઘંઘાના કામે અન્ય શહેર કે વિદેશમાં વસવાટ કરતા હોવાથી વડિલો એકલવાયુ જીવન જીવી રહ્યા છે. જેમની નાની મોટો જરૂરીઆત જેવી કે ડૉકટર પાસે સારવાર લેવી, દવા લાવવી, સરકારી કે બેંકના કામકાજ, ટીફીન મંગાવા જેવી જરૂરીયાત માટે એમને કોઇ સહારનાની જરૂર પડે છે. ઘણા કિસ્સામાંતો આર્થિક પરિસ્થિતી સારી હોવા છતા વડીલો મુશ્કેલી અનુભવે છે. ગાંઘીનગર જીલ્લા પોલીસ દ્રારા સુરક્ષાસેતુ સોસાયટી પ્રોજેક્ટ હેઠળ વડીલોની સમસ્યાઓમાં મદદ કરવા માટે એક ખાસ પ્રોજેક્ટ ‘‘શ્રવણ‘ કાર્યરત કરવામાં આવેલ છે. આ પ્રોજેક્ટ દ્રારા ગાંઘીનગરમાં રહેતા એકલવાયુ જીવન જીવતા વડીલોને વિવિઘ સેવાઓ જેવી કે, મેડિકલ હેલ્પ, બેંકના કામકાજ, ટીફીન સેવાની જરૂરીયાત તથા માનસીક તાણ અનુભવતા વડીલો માટે કાઉન્સીલીંગ આવરી લેતી મોબાઇલ એપ્લીકેશન તૈયાર કરવામાં આવી છે. જેના ઉપયોગ થકી વડીલો તેમની જરૂરયાત જણાવી શકે અને આ પ્રોજેક્ટ સાથે જોડાયેલા સ્વૈછીક સંસ્થાના વોલીયેન્ટર્સ તેમને તાત્કાલીક મદદ કરશે. શ્રવણ પ્રોજેક્ટ સાથે જોડાયેલા વડીલોનું હાલમાં રજીસ્ટ્રેશન કરવામાં આવેલ છે. હાલના આ તબ્બકે આ પ્રોેજક્ટ ગાંઘીનગર શહેર માટે સિમિત રાખવામાં આવેલ છે. અને ભવિષ્યમાં પ્રોજેક્ટનો વ્યાપ વઘારવામાં આવશે.

A major social problem has arisen in today's age due to the modern lifestyle and nuclear family system. Today, many elderly people do not want to be with their children or are living in a lonely life because they are living in another city or abroad for work. They need some support for their small and big needs like seeking treatment from a doctor, bringing medicine, running a government or bank, ordering a tiffin. In many cases, the elders are in trouble, even though the economic situation is good. A special project "Shravan" has been set up by the Gandhinagar District Police under the Suraksha Setu Society project to help the elders in their problems. The project has developed a mobile application covering various services such as medical help, bank operations, tiffin service needs and counselling for the elderly living in Gandhinagar. Through which the elders can express their need and the volunteers of the voluntary organization involved in this project will help them immediately. The elders involved in the Shravan project are currently registered. At the present stage, the project is limited to Gandhinagar city. And the scope of the project will be expanded in the future.
