Travel The World

A country I usually describe as “the unknown country’ is Belgium, a place I visit at least once a year.

My heart always lifts as I go into the main square and see what excitement they have for me this time!

For example every 4 years the whole square is filled with around 7 million flowers, making vastly intricate patterns on the cobbles.

Remember the buildings around you here are, at their newest, some 400 to 500 years old.

Now, I’m not much of a drinker, but the bars, the amount of beer, the sheer range of beers which are available in Belgium is astonishing.

Fortunately they are also famous for their chocolate, which I love, and for their lace, which I am always given fantastic samples of – and these make great presents for friends and family when I return.

Last time I stayed at the new Charles Forte hotel was given the second-best suite (the top suites are over $1000 a night and not really what I required!)

All food, wine, everything, was of course freely available to me.
