Surat Al-A’raf is one of the seven long surahs. It came at the beginning of the Noble Qur’an due to its length, as the number of its verses is two hundred and six verses, and it is Meccan except for verses from 163 to 171.

Surat Al-A’raf occupies the thirty-ninth rank in terms of revelation. It was revealed after Surat S. It is also the seventh surah in the order of the Ottoman Qur’an. We talk here about the virtues of Surat Al-A'raf in detail.

The virtue of reciting Surat Al-A’raf

On the authority of Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him, he said: “Whoever recites Surah Al-A’raf in every month, he will be one of those on the Day of Resurrection who will neither fear nor grieve. on the Day of Resurrection for everyone who reads it.

And on the authority of him, peace be upon him, he said: “Whoever reads Surat Al-A’raf in every month, he will be among those who have neither fear nor grief, and if he reads it every Friday, he will be among those who will not be called to account on the Day of Resurrection.”

Then Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him, said: “As for there are verses in it that are decisive, do not neglect reciting them, reciting them and performing them, for they will testify on the Day of Resurrection for the one who recites them with his Lord” (2).

And it was narrated on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, that he said: “Whoever recites this surah on the Day of Resurrection, God will place between him and Satan a cover, and Adam had a companion, and whoever wrote it with rose water and saffron and attached it to him, he would not be approached by seven or an enemy as long as it lasted on him by God’s permission.”

Surah Al-A'raf and its characteristics

This long surah aimed at defining a set of universal purposes, such as the foundations of beliefs and the universals of religion, especially the issue of monotheism and polytheism. Al-Baq’i said: “Its purpose is to warn those who turn away from what the Book called for in the past surahs of monotheism, and to unite for good... and to warn him of the battles of both worlds. And the evidence in it for this purpose: the matter of custom, for his belief includes the supervision of heaven and hell, finding out the reality of what is in them, and what has been prepared for its people, calling for compliance with all good, avoidance of all evil, and admonition of every kindness.”
