Mother's Day is one of the most lyrical and touching holidays, because every person carries the image of his mother in his soul. The history of this holiday in Ukraine began in 1928, but not on Ukrainian soil, but in Canada, where the Union of Ukrainian Women of Canada held the first celebration dedicated to Mother's Day. And since 1929, it began to be celebrated in Ukraine on the second Sunday of May.

The people of Ukraine easily accepted this holiday, since honoring the mother, the progenitor of the family, has long been considered a national tradition. The beauty and joy of motherhood is praised by all representatives of culture, and this is not accidental - because the degree of respect for a mother in the state is an indicator of the well-being of society. On Mother's Day, unlike March 8, it is customary to congratulate not all women, but mothers and grandmothers, paying tribute to their care, love and patience.
