Allama Prabhu is one of the most famous orators of the 12th century. A very direct puritan. He preached Bhakti-Vairagya to many Shivsharans and Shivsharans.

Through his verses, he tried to find inner and outer revelations. Allama Prabhu was at the top of the 12th century Shiva Sharan.

Allama Prabhu understood the importance of self (atma).

Ankita 'Guhesvara' or 'Gohesvara' of the verses of Allama Prabhu, a contemporary of Basavanna.

There are deep spiritual and philosophical ideas in his verses.

He was born to Nirahankara and Sujana at Balligave in Shikaripura taluk of Shimogge district. Kodi Math near Balligave is an important center of Kalamukh Shaiva.
