Enoshima is a scenic spot that represents Shonan and has been a tourist attraction since ancient times. Enoshima is often written as the name of a transportation station, but it is written as 'Enoshima' in town names and official documents. In the old days, it was written as 'Eshima' as represented by Enoshima Shrine (one of the three major benten shrines in Japan).
