About App Exit Button—in the Navbar
A button in the navigation bar to quickly exit (hide and close) the current app
NOTE: In order to use this app, you need to have the regular Android navigation bar with Back, Home and Recents buttons enabled. The app is not intended to be used with gesture navigation enabled. Also, it will not work on a device with physical navigation buttons.
Are you missing a way to easily exit an app? A way that returns you straight to the home screen, while also properly closing the app you're leaving? So that next time when you open that app, you're not just back where you left off?
This app will add a button to your navigation bar that allows you to quickly exit the current app. No more repeatedly pressing Back to get out of nested menus and screens if you want to properly close an app! The way it works is that when you press the button, the Recents menu will be opened, and the current app will be automatically removed from it.
IMPORTANT: This app does not presently work with Xiaomi (MIUI) phones. It also does not work with tablets.
Note: You cannot use this app while using one of the following apps from the Android Accessibility Suite: TalkBack, Switch Access, Select to Speak and Accessibility Menu.
App Exit Button requires you to enable its Accessibility Service before you can use it. This app uses this service only to enable its functionality. It needs the following permissions:
◯ View and control screen:
- to determine whether you are in the home screen
◯ View and perform actions:
- to add a button to the navigation bar
- to perform a swipe in the Recents menu
App Exit Button will not process any data about your interactions with other apps.
