This version supports NASA's new VIIRS/MODIS active fire detection using direct readout ground stations to make hotspot data available within one minute of satellite overpasses. This new high-speed data retrieval is available in most of the continental USA, parts of Canada and Mexico, Central America, and parts of northern South America. Expansion of this coverage area is planned.
