Pennywise the Dancing Clown is the main character in the horror film titled It, now in theaters, Teens!

It is an adaptation of Stephen King's 1986 horror novel of the same title. This Pennywise character is a demon clown who preyed on children in the town of Maine.

These clowns will appear every 27 years using a variety of strengths that include the ability to change shape and not be noticed by adults.

In an interview in 2013, Stephen King posed the idea for Pennywise to be obtained after asking himself what the most feared children in the world are, and then what he thinks is a clown.

In his site, Stephen King also admitted initially he wanted the character as a Troll, as it is in the story of the children of Three Billy Goats Gruff. The difference is that It's character occupies the local sewer system, not just under a bridge.

Now, It's character has been described as one of the most frightening clowns in fiction.
