This information enables Barcelona Barrios to do something never before used in local politics: Consensus Mapping. Rather than engage in fruitless competitive campaigning and voting, citizens and government are able to cooperate in looking at the characteristics of each barrio, fully understanding the desires and conditions of the specific questions, and creating consensus positions that are most acceptable and beneficial to the barrio as a whole.
