CaP-TB

Access to Health Services, especially in the case of TB affected children is very low. The TB early detection

the gap for all children under the age of 15 stands at 54% based on the estimates and Notifications for 2018.

The gap is largest, at is 63% for young children under the age of 5 years

The prevention gap remains huge, with almost 73% of eligible children under the age of 5 years, who are in

close contact with a patient with infectious TB, not receiving TB preventive treatment and thus at risk of

developing active TB in the near future. It is hoped that this gap will be reduced as countries scale-up

contact investigation activities and start implementing shorter and more child-friendly TB preventive

treatment regimens.

The CaP-TB program identifies children or child patients who are at risk of developing active TB. The

CaP-TB program has a registered list of private medical facilities across various regions in AP-Telangana

the potential child TB patients are identified through these facilities.

Application Detailed Description

CAPTB App is a mobile technology intervention app for Staff Members of Saathi, to diagnose, treat, and also prevent pediatric tuberculosis (Cap-TB). . The CaP-TB application is the mobile frontend for a custom web application developed

specifically to suit the data capture, storage, and analysis of the CaP-TB patients which would aid the

treatment the CaP-TB patients.
