About CatBalling
A Wikipedia category guessing game
CatBalling is a guessing game based on Wikipedia articles. It presents a list of categories of a specific, randomly chosen Wikipedia article and its up to you to guess which one was chosen.
The original game was invented by Sumana Harihareswara, and consisted of reading aloud the category sections of Wikipedia pages to other players in the same room.
CatBalling offers exactly this and implements a scoring system alongside.
You can play it solo or with your friends.
At the moment you can choose from either the english or the german wikipedia.
CatBalling transmits anonymous scoring data (opt-out) to have us optimize and refine the game and the scoring system.
CatBalling filters articles which categories does not allow guessing or which aren't plausible.
If you discover articles whose categories doesn't make sense, you should mark it as 'stupid'. This allows us to refine the filter, to provide a more fluent gaming experience.
CatBalling is inspired by the implementation of kevan.
