It is an initiative of GoI to help complainants/victims report cybercrimes

Cyber Dost App is an initiative of Government of India to facilitate reporting of cybercrime online. The App can be used to file complaints about cybercrime against Women & Children, Cyber Financial Frauds and other types of cybercrimes.Cybercrimes can be reported anonymously or after self-registration in the App. The anonymously reported crimes cannot be tracked and such complaints are treated as for information to Law Enforcement Agencies. Only the cybercrime related to Women & Children can be reported anonymously. The complaints made after self- registration can be tracked and before converting to FIR, the complaints can be withdraw. However, the complaints related to Women & Children cannot withdrawn.

Further, the Citizen can carry out searchs on suspected mobile numbers, bank account numbers, UPI ids, SMS headers, Email address, APP name, Website and social media handles without disclosing their identities. These searches are made against the data provided by various security agencies. This feature will help citizens to check the genuineness of any such identifier.
