Tracker Digi iGate APRS

APRS-IS Tracker is the ultimate tool for amateur radio operators to transmit their GPS location and exchange text messages directly through the global APRS-IS network with maximum efficiency, stability, and style.

Built from the ground up for the technical ham radio community, this app combines advanced tracking algorithms with a clean, modern user interface, ensuring reliable packet delivery whether you are operating mobile, portable, or from a base station.

⚙️ Key Features

Active Smart Beaconing: Forget fixed transmission intervals that drain your battery and clutter the network. The app dynamically calculates the optimal moment to broadcast based on:

Operational time limit reached (> 10 minutes).

Straight-line distance threshold exceeded (> 1 km).

Sharp turns detected (heading change > 30º while in motion).

Total vehicle stop or immobilization.

Integrated Chat with Retry Engine: Send and receive APRS text messages with native confirmation packet support (ACK and REJ). If network conditions drop, the app automatically retries sending up to 5 times (spaced 1 minute apart) to guarantee your message gets through.

Uninterrupted Background Operation: Runs as a native Android Foreground Service with a persistent notification. The OS will not kill your TCP socket or freeze your GPS when you turn off the screen or put the phone in your pocket.

Local History Storage: Your conversations are safely stored on your device using local storage. Even if you clear your recent apps or reboot your device, your chat logs and message delivery statuses remain intact.

Smart Data Trimming: Automatic trim functionality strips accidental spaces from your Callsign, Passcode, and messages before sending them, preventing syntax rejections from the server.

📱 Modern & Adaptive Design

Dark & Light Mode Support: Seamlessly transitions with your Android system theme, providing excellent high-contrast visibility for late-night radio operations or under direct sunlight.

Responsive Layout: Beautifully adapts to smartphones in both portrait (vertical) and landscape (horizontal) orientations, and features a scaled, ergonomic layout optimized for tablets.

Smart Language Switching: Automatically displays the interface in Portuguese or English depending on your Android system language settings.

⚠️ Usage Requirements

Since this application connects directly to the licensed amateur radio infrastructure, you must have the following to log in and transmit data:

A valid Amateur Radio Callsign.

A matching APRS-IS Passcode (Passkey).
