Mauritius will welcome the African athletics this year after 2006.
The African Champion was first held in Mauritius in 1992. The athletes will get to perform on the brand-new Cote d’Or track this year. The National Sports Complex here situated in the village is rated among the top 5 sports hubs in Africa in 2019 due to its well-equipped entertainment and sports hub. The complex spreads over 19 hectares of area and has multiple magnificent facilities like: 2 FINA Certified swimming pools, 2 FIFA Certified football pitches, 1 Olympic level indoor arena, 1 World Athletics certified athletics track and field, 1 High Performance Centre (HPC) gym and so on.
