Constitution of the Italian Republic. GU n.298 of 12/27/1947.

The Constitution of the Italian Republic is the fundamental law of the Italian State, and is positioned at the top of the hierarchy of sources in the legal system of the Republic. Considered a written, rigid, long, voted, compromising, secular, democratic and generally programmatic constitution, it is made up of 139 articles and 18 transitional and final provisions. The provision came into force: 1/1/1948. GU n.298 of 12/27/1947.
