The Information Office was created in light of Presidential Decree 4/95 of 16 October, as a result of the extinction of the Ministry of Information, exercising its attributions in subordination to the Prime Minister and enjoys legal personality and administrative autonomy.

Within the scope of its attributions, this institution has the primary task of advising the Government in matters of social communication, facilitating that its achievements, within the scope of the execution of development programs, are in the domain of the populations.

In this context, and with a view to guaranteeing compliance with the constitutional command of providing citizens with the full enjoyment of the right to information, in order to actively participate in the country's life and contribute to the performance of the press in accordance with development programs and national interest, the Cabinet of Information, created this platform for verifying the authenticity of content published by the press or on social networks that raises, on the part of the recipient, areas of twilight or uncertainty, both for media professionals, students, researchers and society in general. , can interact, with this platform, about articles published in the press or on social networks.

Accessing this platform is free and citizens can, wherever they are, share the content for this page and, in good time, will have an answer from whoever is entitled to it. Fake news is a threat to a society that wants to be well informed and that contributes to the development of the country.
