The year was 1965, and the residents of the popular Florida fishing village Crystal River had a vision. Town leaders — with names such as Pompeo, Emerson, Tolle, Stoney, Merriken, Cappolla, Lewis, McRae, Miller and Strickland — wanted to bring to life Crystal River Golf Club, which at the time was known as 7 Rivers Golf & Country Club. They worked tirelessly, and through a combination of tenacity, generosity and teamwork, they brought their dream to fruition. The club opened in July 1968, and it has been a staple of the community ever since. Modern members have continued the founders vision for Crystal River Golf Club with passion, continuing to preserve history while innovating and improving. Here you can enjoy Citrus County golf at its finest, designed by famed golf course architect William Amick, who has crafted a layout that is fair yet challenging. Five sets of tees, including the sunshine tees for both young and old alike, create a fair chance for everyone to play the course at the correct yardage. The Crystal River Golf Club course is one of the most picturesque in all of Florida. Our players regular spot turtles, egrets, eagles, alligators and other native wildlife as they play through. The club’s members describe this as “golf with benefits.” Now everyone can enjoy Crystal River Golf Club as it is now open to public play and has Crystal River’s most affordable golf rates. Come enjoy our friendly staff, excellent golf course and friendly atmosphere in our bar and grill.
