Welcome to DIUO

Live music belongs on TV, and DIUO makes that happen. Our app contains both live-streamed gigs and live-recorded gigs on demand. Because we've been created by musicians, DIUO is a love letter to the music industry and ethical to its bones. As we grow, we'll be showcasing not only the fantastic talents of musicians all over the world but also shining a light on the people that make these shows possible - the sound & lighting engineers, the video & film crews, set design & props, venues and more - and throughout it, all will be supporting the wider music industry in the form of grants.

How is DIUO different to a live streaming platform?

All shows featured on the platform have both been professionally produced by expert crews, and carefully curated, i.e. there are no user uploaded videos here. Instead, we take the energy & instant access of live streams, mix it with the high production values of music video and finally create programmes with the artistry of curated channels... making it all available to you on TV. Kind of like a cross between live streaming, Netflix & Sky Arts. Importantly, DIUO is also ‘video on demand’ meaning that you can watch shows at any point after the performance or launch date.

Functionality

As with any Smart TV app, you're in the driving seat. You can play, fast forward, reverse, pause, and navigate shows using the app headings & categories and of course your remote. Over time we'll be adding different ways of cutting the DIUO content - it could be by genre or by venue, by collection or by country, by curator or by sponsor, by mood or by instrumentation.

DIUO?

Pronounced ‘duo’. A play on words for those musicians amongst us that understand DI. And also representing our belief that the music industry can simultaneously be two things – brilliant, and fair.

All that remains to be said is that we’re delighted to see you here… and if you *are* here, you probably understand that the way the music industry has worked until now has *got* to change… to be fair to the artists and songwriters that create such incredible work for us to enjoy.
