About dive4time
Technical and Recreational dive planning based on resources - No guessing.
Want to plan dives based on the resources you actually have? "I have an AL80 with 2300psi in it - How long can I go to 80 feet?"
Instead of guessing a runtime, dive4time simply solves the problem.
dive4time computes a full dive plan for the resources you're taking with you, and supports everything from basic single-cylinder Air diving, all the way to multiple cylinder bailouts with a CCR.
Supports
1. Air, Nitrox and Trimix
2. OC and CCR
3. Bühlmann16 with GF algorithm.
4. Advanced bailout situations like Cave and Wreck, both OC and CCR
5. Most aspects can be customized from cylinders to gases, to gradient factors, to SAC rates.
6. Supports n-number of dives using Surface Intervals.
7. No limit on the number of cylinders you can add on a profile (great for stage diving).
8. No limit on the gas mixes - Everything from Air to Tx 1/99 (any combinations of O2 and He is supported - meaning all EAN mixes are supported too).
9. No limit on number of dives.
10. Can export / share dive plans.
11. Supports Imperial and Metric
12. Configurable SAC (regular, deco and bailout), Stops, Ascent speed, Descent speed, Conservatism (defaults to Thirds), GF's and many other settings.
Example A - You have 2 AL80's with EAN30 and an AL40 of O2. Given a depth, dive4time will tell you how long you can go, and what your decompression schedule will be, along with which cylinder is the limiting factor.
Example B - You have a CCR with 3L of Tx 10/50, 3L of O2, an AL80 of 10/50, an AL80 of EAN50 and an AL40 with O2. Adding these to dive4time, you can then set a depth. dive4time will compute the dive you can do while only using 66% of any one of your resources, ensuring that after your dive, you retain 33% of whichever resource you have the least of. dive4time will also tell you which resource is the limiting factor.
Rule of Thirds
dive4time is driven on the concept of only using a set percentage of all of your resources. This default (which you can configure) is 66%. This mimics the Rule of Thirds - 1/3 out, 1/3 back and 1/3 in reserve.
Rule of Thirds and Dive Planning
The Rule of Thirds can be tough to apply in complex situations. dive4time strives to solve this by telling you the max runtime you can safely perform (including decompression) while retaining the 1/3 when the dive is done - This includes complex situations such as bailouts on a CCR while cave diving.
