OVERVIEW

Echo 911 is a smartphone app that sends an alert to campus officials when an emergency call is dialed on premise. These alerts can be configured to be SMS, Email, or Screen Notifications when used in conjunction with E911 Anywhere® or E911 Manager®. When the user presses the panic button on their mobile device, Echo 911 will determine whether the user is inside or outside the preconfigured geo boundary. If inside, an alert will be sent to campus officials, if outside, the call will go to the PSAP as determined by their cellular carrier. In addition, the end user is able to assign alerts to two contacts, (i.e. parents/roommates) and choose what kind of alerts will be sent to them when they place an emergency call.

USING ECHO 911

Echo 911 runs as an app on any Android based device (v 5.0+). When opening the app you will be asked to fill out your personal information. You will then be prompted for permission to run “location services” on the phone.

To send alerts to officials with the Echo 911 app, your enterprise must open a commercial Echo 911 account with RedSky for geo boundary application, and call notifications.
