Auto Scroll: Hands-Free Reader

Auto Scroll scrolls the screen for you, smoothly and at the speed you choose, so you can read hands-free. Use it for stories, long articles, sheet music, recipes while you cook, or any page that is tiring to scroll by hand.

A small floating panel gives you play, pause, faster and slower. Open what you want to read, press play, and put the phone down.

• Continuous scrolling made of short linked strokes, not "swipe one page, then wait". Small text stays readable while it moves.

• Nine speeds from 0.25× to 3×, including very slow speeds for sheet music and dense text.

▸ TOUCH TO PAUSE

• Touch the screen and scrolling pauses. It carries on by itself a few seconds after you let go.

• Choose how long it waits, or set it to never resume.

• Play and pause from the panel or from the notification.

▸ STOPS BY ITSELF

• Stop at the end: scrolling stops when the page stops moving.

• Stop on low battery: stops below 15% when the phone is not charging.

• Sleep timer (Premium): stop after 5 to 60 minutes, for reading in bed.

▸ THREE SCROLL MODES

• Continuous — smooth, steady scrolling. Free.

• Page flip (Premium) — moves one screen at a time, every 2 to 60 seconds.

• Horizontal (Premium) — scrolls sideways for comics, wide pages and carousels.

▸ SCROLL AREA AND DIRECTION

• Reverse the direction to scroll back up, or to the left in horizontal mode.

• Put the swipe on the left, in the middle or on the right of the screen.

• Short, medium or long swipes. Shorter swipes avoid buttons at the top and bottom of pages.

• Swipes always stay clear of the status bar, navigation bar and gesture edges.

• Show the panel everywhere, or only in the apps you pick. The list starts empty; you choose.

• The speed you set is remembered for the app you are in (free: 1 app, Premium: every app).

• Drag the panel anywhere. Show or hide it from the notification or a Quick Settings tile.

▸ A PANEL THAT DOES NOT DISAPPEAR

• "Can't see the panel?" runs a checklist: service, panel, app list, system window, battery and notifications, and offers a one-tap fix for the cause it finds.

• If the system stops the service to save battery, the app tells you and shows how to restart it.

• A step-by-step guide for turning the service on, including the "Restricted setting" case on newer Android versions.

• No ads during setup or in the help screens.

▸ ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE DISCLOSURE

Auto Scroll uses the Android Accessibility API only to perform the swipe gestures that scroll the screen, and only while you have pressed play. It also receives the name of the app in front (to show the panel only in apps you picked and to use your saved speed) and scroll-position numbers (to stop at the end of a page).

• It does not read the text, images, passwords or other content on your screen.

• It does not tap buttons or type for you.

• Nothing it receives is stored off your device, sent or shared.

The app explains this and asks for your agreement before you turn the service on.
