A dark opening is a locale of spacetime showing gravitational speeding up.
The possibility of a body so monstrous that even light couldn't escape was quickly proposed by cosmic pioneer and English pastor John Michell in a letter distributed in November 1784. Michell's oversimplified computations expected that such a body may have a similar thickness as the Sun, and inferred that such a body would frame when a star's breadth surpasses the Sun's by a factor of 500, and the surface getaway speed surpasses the standard speed of light. Michell effectively noticed that such supermassive however non-transmitting bodies may be recognizable through their gravitational consequences for close by obvious bodies.
