Metadata Remover - Photo EXIF

Metadata Remover shows what a photo reveals about you and saves a clean copy without it. See where a photo was taken, when, and on which phone or camera, then remove the EXIF data before you post or send the picture.

See the photo metadata first

• Location: the place name and a map pin from the photo's GPS data

• The date and time the photo was taken

• Device: the phone or camera make and model, or the lens and camera settings

• A count of what the photo reveals, with a higher risk level when a GPS location is present

• Photos with no location, date or device data are marked "Already Clean"

Remove EXIF data and GPS location

• Save a clean copy: a new JPEG without EXIF data such as GPS location, date and camera details

• Your original photo stays in your gallery unless you choose to replace it

• After a single-photo save, the app re-checks the new file for any location, date or device data that remains

• Share a clean photo straight from the app to messaging, email or social apps

Clean photos from anywhere on your phone

• Pick from your recent photos in the app's own gallery grid

• Take a picture with your camera app and check its photo metadata right away

• Use Android's share menu to send a photo to Metadata Remover from your gallery or another app; sharing several at once needs Pro

• To clean an older photo, share it to the app from your gallery app

Batch cleaning and Replace Original (Pro)

• Select several photos in the app, or share several at once, review what each one reveals, then save or share clean copies of the ones you choose

• For photos picked from the gallery grid, Replace Original saves the clean copy and deletes the original after Android asks you to confirm. This cannot be undone, so keeping originals and creating cleaned copies is the default.

How it works

1. Choose a photo from the gallery grid, take one, or share it to the app

2. See its location, date and device details

3. Remove the metadata by saving or sharing a clean copy

4. Post or send the clean photo

Who it is for

A photo metadata remover for anyone who wants to remove location from photos before posting them: people selling items online, parents sharing pictures of their kids, people who would rather not reveal their home address, and anyone who wants to remove metadata from photos before sending them to strangers. It works with JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC photos, and the clean copy is saved as a JPEG.

Privacy

Photos are cleaned on your device and never uploaded. There is no account and there are no ads. To show a place name and a map, the app looks up the photo's coordinates online through Android's location service and OpenStreetMap. Reading and cleaning photos work without a connection.

Plans

Without Pro you can check as many photos as you like and save or share 3 clean copies. Metadata Remover Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited clean copies, batch cleaning and Replace Original. One-time payment. No subscription.

Only the hidden data is removed. The visible picture is not changed, so faces, signs or landmarks in it can still show where it was taken.
