About Orbinauts: Satellite Tracker

Live satellite tracker: the ISS, Tiangong, Hubble and your next pass overhead.

Orbinauts shows where the International Space Station is right now and when it will next pass over you, on a live map of more than 30,000 objects in orbit: every satellite, rocket body and piece of debris.

• The live map: everything in orbit, where it is right now.

• Follow one: its ground track and footprint on the map, and its next pass over you.

• A page for each one, without leaving the map: where it is now, its orbit and its elements, with a photo and facts for the satellites Orbinauts writes about.

• Over you: In view now, what is above your horizon right now, and every visible pass over you in the next two days. Without your position, pick your city instead.

• Next launches: every rocket launch announced worldwide for the next sixty days and the past thirty, with the webcast.

• Re-entries: what the US catalogue dates as come down from orbit, the newest first.

• Close approaches: every close approach in orbit that Space-Track reports publicly, over the next three days and the past thirty, with the miss distance and the chance.

• Search: a name, an alias or a catalogue number.

• Filters: by class, kind and orbit class.

• Share: a link to the one you follow.

• Without a connection, the map and every position keep working from the catalogue stored on your phone.

Orbinauts is built and run by one engineer in Germany, as a hobby: no ads, no accounts, no tracking. Your position is rounded to about a kilometre and sent only to the Orbinauts API, to find the pass.

In English and Spanish.

Orbinauts is not affiliated with NASA, with Space-Track, with the US Space Force or with any space agency; it reads their published data and says where every number comes from. Its answers are estimates for people who want to look up, not for anything on which safety depends.

Data sources: orbits from Space-Track, the public catalogue of the US Space Force, through the Orbinauts API, refreshed every four hours; positions are worked out on your phone. Masses: data from J. McDowell, planet4589.org, licensed CC BY 4.0. Launches from The Space Devs’ Launch Library 2. Map data: Natural Earth.
