Heptool

The Heptool was developed at the Stanford Asian Liver Center for patients to calculate their own chronic hepatitis B health risk for liver disease according to factors such as the endemicity of the country of origin, age, presence of cirrhosis, and liver enzyme and viral load levels. The tool also highlights key recommendations from the World Health Organization chronic hepatitis B treatment guideline (2017).

The Asian Liver Center at Stanford University is the first non-profit organization in the United States that addresses the disproportionately high rates of chronic hepatitis B infection and liver cancer in Asians and Asian Americans. The ultimate goal of the Center is to eliminate the transmission and stigma of hepatitis B, and reduce deaths from liver cancer and liver disease caused by chronic hepatitis B.
