Hikmah Bulan Rajab & Sya'ban

The word "Rajab" which when written in Arabic consists of three letters, namely Ra, Ja, and Ba.

Each letter has a deep and great meaning. Ra is Rahmatullah, the love of ALLAH S.W.T. Jim is Titlelah, the mercy of ALLAH S.W.T and Ba is Birullah, the goodness of ALLAH S.W.T and His hospitality

So from the beginning to the end of this blessed month, ALLAH S.W.T bestows His servants with three gifts. Firstly, Grace without Punishment. Both generosity without narrowness. Third, sincere and gentle kindness or friendliness without expecting anything in return.

If Rajab is an opportunity to leave behind the rudeness and ugliness of our character, then Sha'ban is an opportunity to increase our deeds and prove our loyalty as His servants. as Ramadhan is an opportunity to be sincere and clear oneself from the murky waters of existing life.

If Rajab is a month for repentance, then Sha'ban is a month for gaining love and Ramadhan is a month for getting closer to ALLAH S.W.T.

If Rajab is the month of respect, then Sha'ban is the month of devotion, and Ramadan is the month of enjoyment. If Rajab is a month for worship, then Sha'ban is a month for leaving worldly pleasures and Ramadan is a month for obtaining blessings.

In the month of Rajab every good thing is multiplied. In the month of Sha'ban all evil is melted and in the month of Ramadan we await the descent of all glory. Nishfu Sha'ban

Sha'ban is the eighth month in the Hijri calendar. The specialty of this month lies in its middle which is usually referred to as Nishfu Sya'ban. Literally the term Nisfu Sya'ban means the middle day or night of the month of Sha'ban or the 15th of Sha'ban.

Muslims believe that on this night, two angels who record human daily deeds, namely Raqib and Atid, hand over the record of human deeds to Allah SWT, and on that same night the book of deeds used every year is replaced with a new one.

Imam Ghazali termed the night of Nisfu Sya'ban as a night full of intercession (help). According to al-Ghazali, on the 13th night of the month of Sha'ban, Allah SWT gives three kinds of intercession to his servants. Meanwhile, on the 14th night, all intercession is given in full. Thus, on the 15th night, Muslims can have a lot of goodness to conclude their charity record for one year. Because on the 15th night of the month of Sha'ban, the record of the deeds of human inhabitants of the earth will be raised before Allah SWT.

The scholars state that Nisfu Sya'ban is also called the night of forgiveness or the night of maghfirah, because on that night Allah SWT sends forgiveness to all the inhabitants of the earth, especially to His pious servants.

Thus, we as Muslims should not simply forget that the month of Sha'ban is a noble month. In fact, the month of Sha'ban is a month of preparation to enter the holy month of Ramadan. From here, Muslims can prepare themselves as best as possible by strengthening their faith and praying with full devotion.
