About HomeLab

HomeLab allows everybody to perform health self-assessment and self-monitoring.

Early detection of your health problems is the best lifestyle strategy for disease prevention on the way to graceful aging. Measurement and quantified presentation of your health status is the major task of HomeLab.

HomeLab allows you to perform your personal health self-assessment and self-monitoring, not in a clinic but in your home environment. Health self-assessment and self-monitoring are based on the operation of a few modules. The following modules are available now: “heart rate variability”, “personal data” and “history”. All modules work on the principals of risk calculation. HomeLab allows you not only to track your personal health but also to become aware of the moment when the risk of becoming ill is high and you should see the doctor.

HomeLab consists of the HomeLab App, Processing centre and peripheral devices integrated on a common platform. The HomeLab app provides HomeLab with a patient’s diagnostically significant information and delivers the results of this information processing to the patient in the most telling form. Peripheral devices are the main source of a patient’s vital signs metrics. The information from peripheral devices along with other data about the patient go to the Processing centre where all information is processed in order to make a presentation of the current life status of the patient. The patient also has access to this presentation through the HomeLab app.

For this Homelab app version, the peripheral device is a pulse wave device. The pulse wave device obtains a finger pulse wave signal, transforms it into digital form and transmits it via Bluethooth to the patient’s tablet computer where the HomeLab app is installed. A measurement session takes about 5 min during which the patient can observe the process on the screen of the tablet. At the end of the session, the signal is uploaded to the Processing centre to be processed in the heart rate variability module. First the signal is cleaned and cleared of artifacts. When the special calculations have been made, the results are transmitted to the patient’s tablet where they are presented in visual and numerical form. The results are classified into 4 risk groups: low risk, increased risk, significant risk and high risk. Accordingly to the risk group, HomeLab recommends certain actions to the patient.

Regular measurement sessions help to create a solid picture of your health situation and tendencies if there are any. The results of the measurements are stored in the Processing centre indefinitely so that the patient can access them at any time. The results of all measurement sessions are presented in the “History” module.

You can also reach all your data via web-access: https://www.homelabqh.com .
