Hum Tum Aur Cancer

Hum Tum aur Cancer is a one of a kind audio-centric support app for breast cancer patients and their caregivers in Hindi language. It has been created by Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA), an NGO working towards Total Management of Cancer since 1969. The project was spear-head by Dr. Shubha Maudgal, Executive Director, CPAA as part of the the Seeding Progress and Resources for the Cancer Community: Metastatic Breast Cancer Challenge (SPARC MBC Challenge) awarded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and Pfizer Oncology to CPAA.

The experience of cancer leaves the patient in unchartered territory. There are resources available that provide answers to medical problems but there are many questions are not covered. These can make the difference in the creation of a superior quality of life as the patient feels in charge of their treatment and decisions to be taken.

The purpose of the App is to answer typical questions regarding treatment modalities and protocols, side effects, tips on problems likely to be faced by those undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Making the talks available in Hindi, ensures that it is easily understandable by patients all over India.

Cancer ka pata chalne ke baad khud ko kaise sambhalein: To help you come to terms with the diagnosis of cancer and chart the way forward.

Diet aur cancer: What kind of food to eat or avoid during and after breast cancer treatment.

Cancer aur thakaan: How to deal with fatigue during treatment and when it is something you need to report to your doctor.

Cancer ke mareez ki madad kaise karein-What can you do to help patients close to you.

Cancer aur neend-Patients often suffer from insomnia. What can you do to avoid sleepless nights.

Cancer ke darr ka samna kaise karein-How to deal with the fear of cancer, its treatment and possibility of recurrence.
