FlowState: Study Timer

Time is powered by ancient machinery.

FlowState is a study companion built around tools that genuinely help you get through your coursework.

THE TIMER

Run focus sessions with automatic short and long breaks. A brass dial fills as your session burns down, glowing brighter as the final minutes approach.

• Adjustable focus, short break and long break durations

• Choose how many sessions pass before a long break

• A notification with working pause and stop controls, so you can manage a session without opening the app

• Two modes: Ordinary shows the honest countdown, while Mechanical subtly bends the dial to carry you past the hardest stretches

FOCUS AUDIO

Six built-in soundscapes — white, brown and pink noise, a candlelit library, a cathedral pad, and rain on glass — each presented as a place rather than a file. Add your own audio too. Sound keeps playing while your screen is off.

THE STUDY ASSISTANT

Ask questions during your sessions and get patient, step-by-step explanations rather than bare answers.

• Two AI models to choose from: Kimi K2 and Claude

• Attach a PDF and ask about its contents

• Photograph a page of your notes — the text is read on your device and sent as your question

• Conversations sync across your devices

STUDY UNITS FROM YOUR OWN PDFS

Upload lecture notes, slides or a chapter, and the app builds a complete study unit from it:

• An overview of what the material covers

• The key concepts, each with a definition and a plain-language explanation

• A multiple-choice quiz with instant marking

• A deck of flashcards you can flip through

Scanned and photographed PDFs work too — they're read as images when no text can be extracted.

YOUR RECORD

Weekly and monthly statistics, a month-at-a-glance activity heatmap, daily breakdowns and study streaks. Everything you complete is recorded.
