Indian Natonal Anthem

The National Anthem of India, "Jana Gana Mana," was composed by Rabindranath Tagore in Bengali on 11 December 1911. The song, a Brahmo hymn, conveys the spirit of pluralism or 'unity in diversity', which is central to India's cultural heritage. The lyrics first appeared in a Bengali magazine, and the melody was composed by Tagore himself. The song was first performed publicly on 27 December 1911 at the Indian National Congress in Calcutta. The song was later published in January 1912 under the title Bharat Bhagya Bidhata in the Tatwabodhini Patrika, the official publication of the Brahmo Samaj, with Tagore as the Editor.
