The development of prostatitis is associated with the penetration of sexually transmitted infections, which is facilitated by the anatomical location of the prostate.

The prostate gland is located in the pelvic region above the bladder, it circularly surrounds the neck of the bladder and the initial part of the urethra.

Infectious and inflammatory process in the prostate can occur for many reasons and with the assistance of concomitant factors.

Pathogens of the infectious form of prostatitis are bacteria, viruses, Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, chlamydia, Trichomonas, fungi. Infections, mainly sexually transmitted infections, from the bladder, urethra, rectum, through the blood and lymphatic vessels of the pelvis enter the prostate.
