Keuskupan Malang

Malang Diocese is located in East Java Province. East Java Province is one of the provinces in Indonesia which has very interesting characteristics in terms of geography, the condition of the population, the language that is used daily and there are many other peculiarities.

- East Java Province is located at 111.0 '- 114.4' East Longitude and 7.12 '- 8.48' South Latitude. The area of ​​East Java Province is 46,428.57 km², which is divided into 38 regencies / cities (29 regencies and 9 cities) and has a population of 37,070,731 people (2005).

The northern part and including the island of Madura is lowland and infertile. In contrast, the middle part is a fertile land suitable for agriculture and plantations because of the sprinkling of volcanic ash and the river flowing down the soil.

The population of East Java is approximately 75% in Javanese, 24% in Madura, and a small number use the Osing dialect in Banyuwangi and the Tengger dialect around the Semeru, Bromo and Tengger mountains.

The diocese of Malang is the eastern part of the island of Java and the island of Madura along with small islands nearby. The area of ​​Malang Diocese is 24,409 km2 in 4 cities and 12 regencies. and currently has 30 Parishes.
