A body continues to be in state of rest or uniform motion unless it is acted upon by some external force to act otherwise. Inertial frame of references is attached to accelerated objects for example: A person standing in a train moving with increasing speed. Inelastic collision - the momentum of the system is conserved, but kinetic energy is not. Perfectly inelastic collision - the colliding objects stick together. Elastic collision - both the momentum and the kinetic energy of the system are conserved.
